Founding Seller Program Terms

Version v1.0 · Effective 2026-10-16

1. The Benefit

The seller-side Marketplace Fee is currently 0% for every seller (Terms of Service, Section 7.2). Waziv may introduce seller fees in the future. Founding Sellers stay at 0% seller fees while they remain active.

The Founding Seller benefit is keeping the 0% seller-side Marketplace Fee if seller fees are introduced. It is not a discount on a fee other sellers pay today. Buyer Marketplace Fees are unchanged, including on a Founding Seller's tickets.

2. Seasons

A season runs from July 1 through June 30 (Eastern Time). The current season runs from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. A season includes regular-season and playoff home games of the Washington Capitals and the Washington Wizards at Capital One Arena that are listed on Waziv. A sale counts toward the season in which its game takes place.

3. Completed Sales

A completed sale is an Order in which you were the Seller and the tickets were delivered to the Buyer, either confirmed as a Successful Transfer or treated as delivered under the Terms of Service, and the Order has not been refunded. Listing tickets, posting an Ask or being matched does not count until the Order is completed. Bank receipt of your payout is not required.

4. How to Qualify

The first 50 sellers to have completed sales for three different Capitals or Wizards games in the same season become Founding Sellers. Several Orders for the same game count as one game.

Places are assigned in the order sellers qualify. You qualify at the moment your third different game's sale becomes a completed sale. Places are not assigned by registration, by listing, or by when Waziv reviews an account. We will let you know by email when you qualify.

5. Staying Active

You keep the benefit by having at least three completed sales in each season. These can be for any Capitals or Wizards games. The sales that qualified you count toward the season in which you qualified.

Activity is assessed at the end of each season (June 30). If you had three completed sales during that season, your status continues into the next season. The start of a new season does not by itself make you inactive.

6. Refunds

A sale that is later refunded stops counting toward qualification and toward staying active. If a refund leaves you below the requirement, you keep your place by completing a replacement sale in the same season.

7. Enrollment

Places are available until 50 sellers have qualified. Waziv may extend or close enrollment. Closing enrollment does not remove the 0% seller-fee benefit from sellers who have already qualified and continue to meet the requirements of these Program Terms.

8. When Founding Seller Status Ends

Founding Seller status is personal to your account and cannot be transferred. It ends if:

  • your account is closed;
  • your seller account is suspended following a confirmed seller breach (Seller Agreement, Section 7); or
  • you did not have three completed sales in a season (Section 5).

Other temporary account restrictions do not end Founding Seller status.

9. Records and Privacy

Waziv keeps a private record of Founding Sellers: the account, the qualifying Orders and games, when the seller qualified, the place number, and any later changes in status. We do not publish the names or identities of Founding Sellers without their separate permission.

10. Relationship to Other Terms

These Program Terms supplement the Terms of Service and the Seller Agreement. On the seller-side Marketplace Fee rate for an eligible Founding Seller, these Program Terms govern. In all other respects, the Terms of Service and the Seller Agreement apply.
