Privacy Policy
Version v1.0 · Effective 2026-10-04
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Waziv, Inc. ("Waziv," "we," "us") collects, uses, shares, and safeguards information when you use the Waziv marketplace and related services (collectively, the "Marketplace"). This Policy applies to all Users of the Marketplace.
For purposes of this Policy, personal information means information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with a particular person, consistent with applicable state privacy laws (including the California Consumer Privacy Act and Privacy Rights Act).
2. Information We Collect Directly From You
When you create an account or use the Marketplace, we collect:
- Account information — name, email address, phone number, and password.
- Profile information — display name and any optional information you provide.
- Transaction information — Bids and Asks you post, Orders you place, and your transaction history on the Marketplace.
- Payment information — limited to tokenized references; full card numbers and bank account details are handled directly by our payment processor, Stripe, and are never stored on Waziv servers.
- Identity verification (Sellers) — government-issued ID, date of birth, Social Security number (last four digits or full, as required), and address, collected through Stripe Connect for KYC purposes.
- Communications — messages you send to support, feedback you submit, and survey responses.
3. Information We Collect Automatically
When you visit or use the Marketplace, we collect:
- Device information — IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, and language.
- Usage information — pages viewed, features used, search queries, and timestamps.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 7.
4. Information We Receive From Other Sources
We receive information from:
- Stripe — KYC verification results, payout status, and refund/chargeback events.
- Fraud-prevention service providers — risk signals that help us detect fraudulent activity.
- Event data sources — venue, team, and event metadata used to populate listings.
5. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Process your Bids, Asks, Matches, and Orders.
- Hold Buyer payments in our Stripe Connect Platform Balance and release Seller payouts in accordance with the Terms of Service.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud and abuse.
- Communicate transactional information (Order confirmations, payout notices, dispute notices, account notices).
- Send marketing communications, where permitted (you may opt out at any time).
- Comply with legal obligations, including tax reporting (Form 1099-K is issued by Stripe to Sellers meeting IRS thresholds) and anti-money-laundering rules.
- Improve and develop the Marketplace.
6. How We Share Information
We share information:
- With Stripe, our payment processor, to process payments, payouts, refunds, and KYC.
- With the counterparty in a transaction, only to the extent necessary to facilitate ticket transfer. Specifically, the Seller receives the Buyer's transfer destination (such as a ticket-provider account identifier or email associated with the destination); the Buyer is not given the Seller's full identity.
- With service providers that operate on our behalf (such as cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics, customer support, and fraud prevention) under data-processing agreements that limit their use of information to providing services to us.
- To comply with legal obligations, including responses to subpoenas, court orders, lawful requests by law enforcement, and protection of our rights and the rights of others.
- In a corporate transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case the recipient will be bound by terms at least as protective as this Policy.
We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under California law without first providing the opt-out described in Section 9.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Marketplace, remember your preferences, secure your session, and measure usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may impair your ability to use the Marketplace. We honor browser-based "Global Privacy Control" signals as described in Section 9.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to operate your account, comply with legal obligations (such as tax and anti-fraud retention requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. After this period, we delete or de-identify personal information.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you reside, you may have rights regarding your personal information. We honor the following rights to the extent required by applicable law:
- Right to know what personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to access a copy of that information in a portable format.
- Right to correct inaccurate information.
- Right to delete information, subject to legal exceptions (such as records required for tax or fraud-prevention purposes).
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information (such as government ID and SSN) to purposes necessary for providing the Marketplace.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
These rights are available to residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia, consistent with each state's law. Other states may be added as additional state privacy laws take effect.

10. Children's Privacy
The Marketplace is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it. Users under 18 may not use the Marketplace.
11. SMS and Email Communications
If you opt in to SMS messages, you consent to receive recurring automated text messages from Waziv (such as Order updates, transfer reminders, and dispute notices) at the mobile number you provide. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. For help, reply HELP.
You may opt out of marketing emails by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Transactional emails (such as Order confirmations and payout notices) cannot be opted out of without closing your account.
12. Security
We protect personal information using commercially reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, role-based access controls, and the use of Stripe Connect for sensitive payment data. No system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure; we cannot promise that information will never be accessed without authorization.
13. International Users
The Marketplace is operated in the United States and is intended for use by U.S. residents. Personal information is processed in the United States. If you access the Marketplace from outside the United States, you do so at your own risk, and you consent to the transfer of information to the United States.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated by posted notice on the Marketplace and, where reasonably practicable, by email.
